The fact that you're here means that you've already chosen courage, and I'm here to help you through that journey. I believe that the client is the expert on their lives, so while I bring in the research and knowledge, I follow your lead on what works best in your life and we'll work together on deciding what that looks like. I have a Master's in Social Work from the Ohio State University, where I worked and volunteered with a variety of populations including LGBTQ+, BIPOC, military families, and people with bipolar disorders. I truly believe that we all have personal strengths that help us work through life’s difficulties. We sometimes just need others to help us identify those strengths as well as ways to utilize them to cope and find solutions. My goal is to work with individuals, couples, and families to offer tools that will allow them the opportunity and safe space to discover and utilize their strengths in order to make positive change in their lives.
I have worked in the direct service field in some capacity for well over 20 years, starting with a career in childcare and transitioning to providing parent education as a home visitor. During my time of working with pregnant and parenting youth along with their families, I quickly recognized that there were negative relationship patterns and trauma that seemed to be passed down through generations. In addition to these experiences, my passion for mental health and families led me to study marriage and family therapy.
My areas of focus are marital conflict, infidelity, family conflict, parenting concerns, perinatal bonding and attachment, anxiety, and depression.
